Description:  Hyperuricosuria is a metabolic disorder resulting in elevated levels of uric acid in blood and urine, leading to form urate bladder stone. The mutation was first discovered in Dalmatian dogs. However, in a wider population screen, it was also found frequently in Bulldog, Black Russian Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier as well as retrievers. The mutation is present in many other breeds.

 

Inheritance: autosomal recessive

 

Mutation: c.G563T (p.C188F) in SLC2A9 gene

 

Sample: EDTA whole blood (1.0 ml) or 2 buccal brushes. For official purposes, the confirmation of the dog’s identity by Veterinarian is recommended.

 

The analysis is suitable for the following breeds: Dalmatian, American Staffordshire Terrier, Black Russian Terrier, Bulldog, Retrievers, many other breeds
